Detailing prices by vehicle

Your package prices by vehicle size, average condition, no add-ons or travel. Change “Your prices” and the table follows.

PackageSedanSmall SUVLarge SUVTruckLarge van

1. Package × vehicle

Each package has a sedan price and time. Bigger vehicles take longer, so a size multiplier raises both. Condition adds more for dog hair, sand and stains.

2. Plan, extras, travel

Maintenance-plan customers get a discount because their car stays cleaner. Add-ons are priced flat, and travel is charged per mile past your free radius.

3. Profit check

Labor at your pay rate, supplies as a % of price, plus fuel and equipment come off. Price ÷ labor hours is compared with your target to say Good, Thin or Too low.

Questions

How much should I charge for a full detail?

Many US mobile detailers charge about $175 to $300 for a full interior and exterior detail on a sedan, and 15% to 45% more for SUVs, trucks and vans. Very dirty vehicles, pet hair and stains add more. Check local prices and make sure each job meets your target per labor hour.

Should I charge a travel fee?

Most mobile detailers include a free radius (often 10 to 20 miles) and charge per mile beyond it, so far-away jobs still pay for your drive time and fuel.

Should maintenance-plan customers get a discount?

Yes, usually 5% to 15%. A car washed every 2 to 4 weeks takes less time, and recurring customers fill your schedule. The profit check shows whether the discounted price still meets your target.
