What is inside the invoice template
Freelancers and small businesses often need a professional invoice quickly. This template calculates each line, the subtotal, an optional discount, tax, the total and the balance due. The due date is worked out from your payment terms.

Colour key: yellow cells are for your own numbers and text. Green cells calculate automatically, so leave them alone. Sample data is included so you can see how it works, and you can delete it.
How to use the invoice template
- Enter your business name, contact details, invoice number and invoice date.
- Set the payment terms in days. The due date is calculated.
- Add the client details and up to 10 line items with quantity and unit price.
- Enter a discount percentage and a tax rate if they apply, and any amount already paid.
- Print the sheet to PDF or save it as a PDF to send to your client. Save a copy of the file for every invoice.

- Number invoices in order so you can find them later.
- State your payment terms and how to pay on every invoice.
- Check local rules on what an invoice must show in your country, such as tax numbers.
