1. Size sets the price

base + lawn sq ft ÷ 1,000 × rate, never below your minimum. The base covers driving, trimming, edging and blowing, which take time on every lawn.

2. Terrain and frequency

Slopes and obstacles take longer, so they raise the price. Every-2-weeks lawns grow taller between visits and cost more per mow than weekly ones.

3. Season and monthly plan

Visits per season come from your season months and how often you mow. Many customers prefer the same payment every month, so the season total is split into 12.

Questions

How much should I charge to mow a lawn?

Many US lawn services charge $35 to $75 per mow for a typical quarter-acre yard (about 8,000 to 10,000 sq ft of grass), more for slopes, obstacles or every-other-week service. Start from what local companies charge and check that each mow pays your target per labor hour.

How much is a quarter acre or half acre?

A quarter acre is about 10,900 square feet and a half acre about 21,800, but the house, driveway and beds take up part of the lot. Measure just the grass, or use a satellite measuring tool, for an accurate price.

Should every-2-weeks mowing cost more?

Usually yes. Grass grows taller between visits, so each mow takes longer and may need bagging or a second pass. A 15% to 30% surcharge per visit is common.
