How the price is worked out
Two common pricing methods, the higher one wins so small homes with many bathrooms don’t get under-priced. Then the service, frequency and add-ons adjust it.
1. Base price
The higher of sq ft × price per sq ft and base + bedrooms × rate + bathrooms × rate, never below your minimum job.
2. Service and frequency
A deep clean or move-out multiplies the base (1.6× and 1.8× here). Recurring clients get a discount because repeat visits take less time.
3. Profit check
Hours come from sq ft per labor hour. Price ÷ labor hours gives your revenue per hour, compared with your target to say Good, Thin or Too low.

Questions
How much should I charge to clean a house?
Most cleaners price by square footage, by rooms, or by the hour. This calculator uses the higher of square footage and rooms, then checks that the job pays at least your target per labor hour. Start from your local competitors’ prices and adjust the rates under “Your rates”.
Should recurring clients get a discount?
Usually yes. A home cleaned every week or two stays cleaner, so each visit is faster. A 5% to 15% discount is common. The profit check tells you if the discounted price still meets your target.
How long does a standard clean take?
It depends on the home and your crew. The default here is 550 square feet per labor hour for a standard clean; deep and move-out cleans take longer. Time your own jobs for a few weeks and change the number to match.
