Wallpaper Calculator
Find how many rolls of wallpaper to order. A 12 x 10 ft room with 8 ft walls needs 7 rolls with pattern waste.
How to calculate wallpaper rolls
Find the total wall area (perimeter x height), subtract doors (21 sq ft) and windows (15 sq ft), add waste for pattern matching, and divide by the usable coverage of one roll.
This example room has 301 sq ft of wall to cover. With 15% waste and 56 sq ft per roll you need 7 rolls, costing about $280.00.
Roll size and pattern repeat
A US double roll is about 27 inches wide and 27 feet long, which gives about 56 sq ft usable. Large pattern repeats and drop matches waste more paper, so use 20% or more. Always buy rolls from the same batch number so colors match. Planning flooring too? See the flooring calculator.
