Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate hours worked on a timesheet?
Subtract time in from time out, then subtract unpaid break time. The template does this and multiplies by 24 to convert Excel time into hours.
Does it calculate overtime?
Yes. Hours above the threshold you set, 40 by default, are paid at the overtime multiplier, 1.5 by default.
Can I use it for a biweekly pay period?
Use one sheet per week, or copy the sheet and add the totals.
Does it work for night shifts that cross midnight?
The simple formula assumes time out is later the same day. For overnight shifts, split the shift at midnight into two rows.
Is the timesheet free?
Yes, with no email or sign-up.
