Loan Signing Fee Calculator

A signing service offers you a fee. Before you accept, see what you actually keep per hour after driving, printing and scanbacks, and the fee to counter with if it falls short.

What each fee pays per hour for this signing

Same drive, pages and time as above. This is the number signing services don’t show you: your real hourly rate at each fee.

FeeNet profitPer hourCall

1. Costs come off first

Driving at your cost per mile (not the IRS rate) and printing at your cost per page. A 150-page package at 6¢ is $9 before you leave the house.

2. Count all the time

Printing and prep, the drive both ways, the signing itself and scanbacks. A “1-hour signing” is usually 2.5 hours of your day.

3. Then decide

Take it when profit per hour meets your target and the fee meets your minimum. Within 20% of target, counter. Lower than that, decline or counter firmly.

Questions

What is a good fee for a loan signing?

It depends on distance, package size and scanbacks. Many experienced agents look for $100 to $175 for a standard refinance or purchase, more for long drives, two borrowers in separate places, or rush jobs. Use your profit per hour, not the fee alone, to decide.

Should I use the IRS mileage rate to price signings?

For pricing, use your real cost per mile (gas and wear), often 30¢ to 40¢. The IRS rate (72.5¢ for 2026) is for your tax deduction and is shown separately so you don’t overstate your costs or understate your profit.

How do I counter a low offer?

State the facts that make the job bigger than average, like miles, pages and scanbacks, then give one clear number. The message above does that for you with the fee you need to reach your target.
