Questions
What does a handyman charge for small jobs?
Many handymen use a minimum charge for small jobs. Fixr says $130 is the most common minimum, usually for jobs of 30 minutes or less, with hourly rates of $50 to $100 and most charging about $65 an hour.
How much does a handyman charge to mount a TV?
Fixr lists $300 to $400 for TV mounting, while our handyman rates guide shows $150 to $300 as a typical flat rate. Wall type, TV size, hiding cables and whether you supply the mount move the price.
How much to install a ceiling fan?
Fixr lists $100 to $300 to install a fan, and the price can rise if new wiring or a fan brace is needed. Where electrical work needs a licence in your state, check before quoting it.
Should a handyman charge by the hour or by the job?
Flat prices work well for jobs you do often, like faucets, fixtures and wall patches, because customers like a fixed number. Hourly pricing is safer for repairs where you cannot see the full scope until you start.
Is there a printable handyman price list?
Yes. Use the print button on this page to print the price list or save it as a PDF, then replace the ranges with your own prices before you share it with customers.
