Junk Removal Pricing Calculator

Price a junk removal job by the truck load. Enter the load size, crew time, dump fee and driving to get your cost, a price that hits your margin and a price per cubic yard.

How the junk removal pricing calculator works

Junk removal is often priced by how much of the truck the load fills. That works only if the per-load price covers labor, the dump fee and the miles. This junk removal pricing calculator starts from your costs and works up to a price that hits your margin.

Heavy loads such as concrete or wet debris can cost much more to dump per cubic yard than light furniture. Enter the real dump fee for the job and run the calculator again for heavy loads.

The numbers shown are examples. Use your own wages, dump fees and truck costs.

The formulas

Cost = (crew x hours x wage) + dump fee + (miles x cost per mile) + other costs
Price = cost / (1 – target margin %)
Price per cubic yard = price / load size
Full truck price = price per cubic yard x truck capacity

Many companies price by truck volume. Work out your cost for a job, add your margin and divide by the cubic yards to get a price per cubic yard.

How do I price a full truck load?

Multiply your price per cubic yard by the truck capacity. The calculator shows this.

Should I charge extra for heavy items?

If the dump fee is higher for the material, put that fee in the calculator. Many crews also set a minimum charge.
