Baked Goods Pricing Calculator
Price cookies, cupcakes, bread or cakes so you actually make money. Enter what a batch costs you and your target margin, and get a price per item, your break-even price and profit per batch.
How the baked goods pricing calculator works
Most home bakers price by doubling the ingredient cost. That forgets your time, packaging, fees and overhead, which is why busy bakeries can still make no profit. This baked goods pricing calculator builds the price from the full cost of a batch, then adds the margin you want to keep.
Because fees and margin are both a share of the price, the formula divides by (1 – fees – margin) instead of multiplying the cost. That keeps your profit margin true to the number you typed in.
Use your own numbers. The values shown are examples to show how it works, not recommended prices. Time one real batch from mixing to packing, add up your actual receipts, and enter them.

Frequently asked questions
How do I price baked goods for sale?
Add the ingredient cost, packaging, your labor time and a share of overhead, divide by the number of items, then divide by one minus your fees and target margin. This calculator does the steps for you.
What profit margin should a home bakery use?
There is no single right number. Enter the margin you need to cover your goals, then compare the suggested price to what local customers pay for similar items.
Should I pay myself an hourly wage in the price?
Yes. If your time is not in the price, your profit is really unpaid labor. Enter the hourly wage you want to earn.
How do I price wholesale orders?
Run the calculator again with a lower margin and a lower selling fee, because there are no card or marketplace fees on some wholesale orders. Keep the break-even price as your floor.
